The Community is organized along
the following lines:
Community Director
The entire Community is run
by a Director, who serves as its head.
He is the chief servant who gives direction, strategic intent
and vision to the Community and is the leader of the Council &
Body of Elders.
Council of Elders
A body of persons called to
serve in the following capacity: Advisory, Decision Making, Direction,
Counseling, Spiritual Direction, Pastoral Care, Ministry, Disciplining,
Policy Making & Monitoring, Envisioning, Powers of Vito, Monitoring
of the Pastoral Groups. This vocation is renewable each year.
Body
of Elders
A body of persons representing
the
collective wisdom of the community.
Their role is primarily that if consultation.
Members are elected to the Body of elders by Covenanted members
and the Council of Elders.
Service Team
A team of people (7 being the
recommend maximum), called to service and elected by covenanted members
to serve the community for a period of 1 year in areas such as:
Planning for Prayer Meeting, Discipline handling, Policy Documentation
(dress, code of ethics, choir, discipline, tithing, service, POP history
etc), Implementation & Management of Community projects, Making
recommendations to the Body & Council of Elders. The Service Team
works in tandem with other management bodies of the Community to give
definitive direction in the execution of Community affairs and to
ensure proper compliance with overall aims and objectives.
The Council of Elders reserves the right to finalize the composition
of the Service Team.
Spiritual Director(s)
A named group persons of Charismatic
Spirituality to provide Spiritual Direction and Guidance, Retreats
to the Council of Elders, the Service Team and wider Community.
Ministry Heads
Covenanted
Community members champion the critical areas or ministries of the
community and function as Ministry Heads.
Ministry Heads administer the responsibilities and projects
of their respective departments to ensure congruence with wider Community
goals and objectives.
Heads of Departments
Heads of Departments are directly
responsible and accountable for the execution of projects and activities
in the Community as laid down by the managing bodies.
Each department head works in conjunction with a supporting
management team within his/her respective department.
Membership
Overall Community membership
stands at approximately 200 persons.
People of Praise membership is described
as either on a Covenanted or General basis.
Covenanted Community members are those persons who have made
a commitment, for at least one year, to dedicate their time, talent
and treasure to the service of God and the building up of the Church
in partnership with People of Praise.
To date, there are approximately 50 persons in Covenanted partnership
with the Community.
Non-covenanted members
constitute the General membership of the Community.
Advisors
From time to time, the Community
Director and Service Team will seek external counsel from Bishops,
priests, religious or senior lay persons regarding spiritual and non-spiritual
matters.
